Every so often fasting – the conscious abstaining from all food or specific foods, sometimes for religious observance but sometimes for other reasons – like weight loss or “detoxing” has come back into vogue again. There’s actually some recent research that suggests it might have some limited benefits – in rats but in a recent human study, too.
